Urban Terror è uno sparatutto 3D multigiocatore basato sul motore di Quake 3 Arena.
Il titolo dispone di varie modalità di gioco, come cattura la bandiera, piazza la bomba, uno contro tutti ed altre ancora, comunque esclusivamente multiplayer. E' possibile giocare contro il computer per allenarsi, ma non esiste una storia da completare. Punto di forza di Urban Terror sono le arene, enormi e ben progettate. Le armi sono estremamente realistiche e riprendono modelli esistenti nella realtà.

Ecco le novità della nuova versione 4.1 tratte dal sito del produttore:· Working IP ban system.
· Duplicate name protection (the trade-off is that you can't use spaces in your name anymore though).
· Removal of white skins.
· New/updated maps.
· Updated UI and default settings.
· Added /rcon players command, returning map/score and per player: name, team, score, ping, IP.
· No votes within first 60 seconds of a map.
· The in-game browser now remembers your sorting preferences.
· Short names won't mess up the healthbar anymore.
· Bugfixes and weapon balance changes.

Per installarlo su K|X|Ubuntu basta scaricare il file .deb dal link posto sotto cliccarci sopra e confermare oppure aprire il terminale recarsi dentro la cartella e scrivere:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

confermiamo e alla fine avremo il nostro Urban Terror installato.
